SlipLedger

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 7, 2026

SlipLedger (a product of Before The Slip) is built on a simple promise: your record is yours. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it.

What we collect

Account data: your email address and password (stored as a hash — we never see the password itself). Your ledger: the picks, sources, odds, units, results, and notes you enter. Billing data: subscription status and plan; payment is processed by Stripe, and your full card number never touches our servers. Waitlist data: if you joined the waitlist, the email and rate preference you submitted. Basic technical logs: standard server logs (such as IP address and timestamps) kept for security and debugging.

What we use it for

To run the service: authenticate you, store and display your ledger, compute your private standings, process your subscription, and respond to support requests. To communicate with you about your account (receipts, billing notices, material changes). That’s it.

What we never do

We do not sell your data. We do not share your ledger with advertisers, sportsbooks, handicappers, or other users. We do not publish rankings or pool your results with anyone else’s. We do not show ads. Your picks are visible to you alone.

Who processes data for us

We use a small set of service providers to operate SlipLedger: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), and Stripe (payments). Each processes data only to provide their service to us. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking networks.

Cookies

SlipLedger uses only essential cookies: the encrypted session cookies that keep you signed in (set by our authentication provider, Supabase). There are no advertising cookies, no third-party tracking cookies, and no analytics trackers. We do not store your ledger in your browser.

Your rights and controls

You can view and edit everything you have logged at any time. You can delete your account yourself from Settings — deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Your ledger, sources, and account data are promptly removed from our production database, and if you joined the waitlist with the same email address, that entry is deleted at the same time. Copies in encrypted backups and server logs cycle out automatically over a limited period. Records our payment processor (Stripe) is required to keep for tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention purposes are retained by Stripe under its policies. You can also email us to request a copy of your data or ask questions about this policy. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional statutory rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data; we honor these requests at slipledger@beforetheslip.com.

Retention and security

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your ledger is permanently removed from the production database. Billing records required for tax and accounting purposes are retained by Stripe per their policies. Encrypted database backups are kept for disaster recovery and cycle out automatically; deleted data ages out of backups rather than being individually scrubbed from them. Data is encrypted in transit; access to production systems is restricted.

Age

SlipLedger is for adults of legal betting age only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes and contact

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email or in-app before they take effect. Questions: slipledger@beforetheslip.com.
